Woodbury Chamber of Commerce hosts Naugatuck Valley Council of Government
The Woodbury, CT Chamber of Commerce is hosting a public information presentation with the Naugatuck Valley Council of Government (NVCOG) Assistant Director Mark Nielsen and Drew Baklik, its Director of Municipal Affairs.
Topics covered will include: What is a council of government and what do they do in Connecticut? What are the functions and areas of activity of the NVCOG in this region? Woodbury’s identity within the region and its economic and demographic profile will be compared with that of other towns. An overview of efforts and plans for the region’s
local and regional transportation, environmental, community and economic development will be provided along with time for questions.
The NVCOG website states that it provides a regional framework within which municipalities can jointly address common interests, and coordinate such interests with state and federal plans and programs. Business owners and any interested members of the public are urged to attend to learn more about the potential for NVCOG to affect the local economy.
Refreshments will be provided by the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce. Business owners whether members of the chamber or not, are also encouraged to attend, and meet other business owners, and residents of Woodbury, Bethlehem, Southbury, Middlebury—all towns under the administrative umbrella of the NVCOG.
